Condado is to San Juan, what Manhattan is to New York City. Condado Puerto Rico is an upscale neighborhood located on the Atlantic beach and east of Old San Juan, and separated by the “Dos Hermanos Bridges”. Condado is a part of Metro San Juan, and a sub barrio of Santurce.
The community land mass measures +200 acres, and in year-2000 had a resident population of 6,170 (US Census.)
“El Condado” is a hotel-dominated beachfront community, and associated with wealth and status, according to Wiki. As follows, “Properties are scarce, hard to come by and extremely expensive. and may cost millions of dollars. It is one of the most desirable places to live on the island and commands a premium.”
There are many restaurants in Condado. Many are expensive, none are super-inexpensive.
However, Panne’s makes a good breakfast and has a 2-for-1 Cuban Sandwich deal on Wednesdays for $12.
Munchie Burger is next to Stop & Go at the intersection in front of La Concha Resort. Munchie Burger has a good burger and fries for around $15. Stop & Go also has a modest lunch buffet and is more-suited to drinking on the porch area, which can be active. There are decent-priced Empanada’s, and some Puerto Rican food spots that I think are over-priced.
There are also some very expensive places with fancy names, if that is your thing.
We also rent bicycles and kayaks and SUP’s.
